On September 29, British Columbia released 450 invitations in its latest draw for applicants to apply for a provincial nomination.
This draw broke the record and became the province’s biggest draw of 2020, crossing over 430 invitations that were issued in its draw on September 1st.
The EEBC class is for applicants with a legal profile in the federal government’s Express Entry system, therefore, Canada’s keystream for skilled migrants who are willing to get Canadian permanent residence status.
The SI category is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province of B.C.
The minimum score required in this draw ranged from 75 to 94 points for the five EEBC and SI categories that were comprised.
The minimum scores were:
- SI – Skilled Worker: 93
- SI – International Graduate: 94
- SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 75
- EEBC – Skilled Worker: 93
- EEBC – International Graduate: 94
Express Entry is the federal government’s application management system for Canada’s three main economic immigration programs —
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP),
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Express Entry applicants are scored with points based on human capital aspects (such as age, work experience, education qualification, and language proficiency in either English or French).
Express Entry applicants with a provincial nomination get an extra 600 score for their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The 600 points genuinely promise that they will get a permanent residence invitation under Express Entry.
Skills Immigration applicants only require to be registered with the SIRS.
It was an engaging month of September for British Columbia.
The province made seven draws in sum via its several PNP classes and streams and invited more than 1,430 applicants to apply for a provincial nomination.
Candidates who obtained an invitation to apply at this draw now have up to 30 following days from the date of receiving the invitation to submit a complete application via the BC PNP Online registration system. However, it is not guaranteed by an invitation that the candidates will be allowed for a nomination.
To be contemplated under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, most applicants should be an underdetermined, a full-time job offer from the province that is ready to support them via the application process.
